One of our favorite smart home purchases has been a Ring doorbell.
It makes my wife feel safer to to see who’s at the door before approaching it and it helped us recover over $500 in an insurance claim for a stolen package.
And so we wanted to create this guide to Alexa commands for Ring doorbells and cameras (including a printable cheat sheet) to show others just how convenient it is to use these impressive security products.
Let’s dive in.

The Basics
Using Alexa With Ring Doorbells & Cameras
Ring has a fantastic origin story.
The company was started by serial entrepreneur Jamie Siminoff in 2012.
It struggled early on, failing to get a Shark Tank deal in 2013 when the company was near bankruptcy.

However, Jamie’s conviction about the popularity and security benefits of his video doorbell was spot-on, and in five short years, he sold Ring to Amazon for $1 billion!
Ring Doorbells & Cameras Are Alexa-Compatible
As an Amazon-owned company, it’s no surprise that all generations and models of Ring doorbells and cameras are Alexa-compatible.
This includes the recently-released Ring Video Doorbell 3 and Ring Video Doorbell Pro as well as the new budget indoor cameras that Ring has released.
