[2021] The Best LG TV Alexa Commands

LG TV Alexa Commands

Updated: July 25, 2021

We created this guide to LG TV Alexa commands to make it easy to ditch your remote and begin your journey to remote-free living with the Amazon Alexa voice assistant.

The structure is simple. We’ll cover:

  1. Compatibility: Which LG TVs work with voice assistants, like Alexa
  2. Voice commands:  The two sets of Alexa commands you can use with LG TVs (for beginners and advanced users).

Let’s dive in below.

The Basics...

Do LG TVs Work With Alexa?

Among the leading smart TV manufacturers (Samsung, Sony, LG, and Vizio, among others), LG TVs have the best compatibility with third-party smart home platforms and their voice assistants. Specifically:

All 2019 and 2020 LG TVs have Alexa and Google Assistant built-in

While other smart TVs may have one of these voice assistants built-in, LG is the only brand to have both.

2018 TVs, on the other hand, are compatible with Alexa but do not have Alexa built-in.  This means that you need to link an Amazon Echo speaker to your TV to use Alexa voice commands.  (The whole process takes less than five minutes.)
